Cross-Country Skiing in the Grossarl Valley
Two cross-country ski runs are available in the Grossarl valley. On the one hand it is the Grossarl circle from Grossarl to the Kösslerhäusl and on the other hand we have the circle in Hüttschlag, from Hüttschlag to the valley end. The whole cross-country ski runs in the valley are about 30 km. And we have high-trail (about 5 km) on the Saukaralm at an altitude of 1850 meters.
Cross-country skiers enjoy the wonderful tracks on the 30 km valley run. The majority of the run is routed in both styles (classic and skating) and can be identified as easy to difficult.
The second run is new and opened up in the winter season 2007/2008. This 5 km long run is at an altitude of 1850 m and is in great condition. This course does, however, require endurance due to the high altitude. This run is in operation 4-5 days a week. A taxi service transports skiers from the valley three times each day.
In the Grossarl valley you are able to discover untouched natural landscape at your own pace. The glistening snow surround breathtaking views. After a long day of skiing you will need to relax. The Salzburg Mountain Advent offers many different regional specialties for you to choose from. The Christmas market has many great attractions ready for you and the entire family.
