The "Europadorf" (Eurovillage) Grossarl is located in the center of the Grossarl valley and has a population of approximately 3700 people in the main portion. The center of the village is at an elevation of 920 m, with the highest mountain being the Frauenkogel reaching 2422 m. The romantic town is known for its modern ski area. The valley station is located almost directly in the middle of town. Many hotels, cafes and sports shops have opened in and around the area.
You will also find many attractions and events at the Salzburg Mountain Advent in Grossarl. The advent market is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the Salzburg region. The one-of-a-kind flair of the market place and the many church lights are a sight to remember. The market stands and exhibitors are a wonderful addition to the scenery with Christmas decorations to be seen throughout the entire village.
Torchlights glow around you during your walk through the market. In the background, traditional Christmas songs are played from the church - often times live! You can also choose to journey to the parish church and see the nativity scene or listen to the advent choir.
