The one-of-a-kind flair of the market place and the many church lights are a sight to remember. Hüttschlag was once a mining town. In winter, it is the place to find peace and quiet in the Salzburg region. The holiday program during advent is also something special to experience.
Approximately eight kilometers into the valley passed Grossarl is the town of Hüttschlag. A portion of the national park "Hohe Tauern" has been part of the village since 1991.Hüttschlag has a population of approximately 950 and is at an elevation of 920 m above sea level. The highest mountain in the area is the Keeskogel at 2882 m.
With the free ski bus you are perfectly connected to the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing and ski touring are particulary popular locally.
